NG tube and Surgery date

So much has happened in the last few days. Cas is doing much better. It seems he no longer has a cold and he may be able to go home on friday or monday and spend his first Christmas at home.

Since being in the hospital though he has learned that he doesn't have to eat through a bottle. So he ends up getting most of his milk through a NG tube. As a result i have to be trained to insert and remove a tube up and down my sons nose.

He also has a surgery date, December 29, 2009. I'm scared and relieved at the same time. Scared because of everything that can go wrong. Relieved because Cas will be fixed and he will be a normal baby. I just need to have faith that God will do what he feels is best, and accept that i may not like what he feels is best.

As a result of his impending surgery, my family supports for children with disablities application needs to be approved ASAP. We need all the help we can get as Cliff will have to take time off work--therefore no income coming in there. As well as the cost for the two of us to stay at the Ronald Macdonald House in Edmonton. The girls will be with their Nanny in Sask for the period and Daylen will be with his dad or at a friends house. Please pray things come together for us Financially and emotionally, we'll still be togther for Christmas but with Impending surgery I'm sure to be a basket case.

  1. I'm sure it will be fine. I'll be around if you need me. Just working downtown...don't know where Ronald McDonald house is, but I'll meet up with you a few times.

  2. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Don't fret about the NG tube...I thought it would be harder, but it was a breeze putting in. Hope decided to take it out shortly after we got home and we decided to test her for a day...never put it in again! Our little heart babies are totally different at home! Enjoy your Christmas and ring in the New Year with a happy, healthy little boy!
